How To: Caliper painting/polishing

here are some general steps to polishing out your calipers and or painting them using dupli-colors metal cast.

Step 1 remove wheel & asses the situation.

step 2 remove all dirt & grim from any surface to be painted w/ a degreaser of choice. spray solvent Scrub, rinse, scrub, rinse, scrub, rinse, using a mild brush. Then dry. (dry using blow dryer or cloth will do.)

after a thorough rinse this should be your ending prod.

step 3 polishing here you will need a wire brush & a shit load of elbow grease, unless you are using a drill as i did, w/ a coarse wire brush NOT FINE OR ANYTHING HEAVY! you will damage the caliper by digging into the material. Polish to desired finish

here is a finished sample (if you want it chrome/polished stop here & add a clear coat…high heat/ metalcast clear)

Step 4 mask off areas that you do not want paint on if you are to lazy to remove the caliper as i was. Then begin w/ a light misty coat…proceed with another coat @ a minimum of 10 min. intervals depending on climate.
